CONTACT LENS EXAMINATIONS
Contact lenses have evolved and improved dramatically over the past few decades and years. We have more options than ever to find the best contact lens fit for you. Our doctors have performed thousands of contact lens fittings ranging from spherical, toric (astigmatism correcting), and multifocal. We prescribe the newest lens designs and materials, ensuring optimal health and fit of lenses for each individual’s needs, including MiSight, the first-ever contact lenses with technology for myopia control.

DRY EYE CONSULATIONS
Ocular Surface Disease and Dry Eye Disease can significantly impact a patient's quality of vision and life. Some common symptoms associated with dry eye are burning, gritty sensation, watery eyes, light sensitivity, pain, blurry or fluctuating vision, and redness.
Our dry eye evaluations are detailed and thorough, employing the latest technology, including meibography to photograph your tear glands, tear film, and cornea, to help assess your eyes’ needs. Ocular Surface Disease and Dry Eye Disease are multifactorial diseases which require a thorough evaluation to determine causes and the best treatment options. We are equipped with a broad range of treatment options including IPL (Intense Pulse Light). Dry eye treatment plans are highly individualized, but we will work to develop one that is appropriate for your eyes’ needs.

LASIK SURGERY CONSULTATION
LASIK eye surgery or PRK can be a wonderful option for patients who are the right candidates. If you are interested in laser surgery, Dr. Ruby can do an initial evaluation to determine if this is an option for you. Generally, patients must have a stable prescription that falls within surgical range with no other contraindications such as history of ocular surface disease (often referred to as “dry eye”) or other corneal problems.
We co-manage all our LASIK patients with the surgeons at Boston Laser.

MEDICAL EYE EXAMINATIONS
Our office is a full scope medical optometry practice. Years of training and experience coupled with the advanced technology in our practice enables us to care for patients who are managing complex issues.

Depending on your specific needs and medical history, the optometrist may perform additional testing such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), retinal imaging, and visual field testing. We enjoy excellent professional relationships with the surgical specialists at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB), and manage more complex medical eyecare that some patients require with their team.
